Hearthstone’s “Kobolds and Catacombs” expansion has a release date

Blizzard announced today that Hearthstone’s next expansion “Kobolds and Catacombs” would be released early December. In fact, the expansion was given a firm release date of December 8, 2017. This means players need only to wait nine more days before they can dive into the latest for Hearthstone.

Hearthstone’s “Kobolds and Catacombs” release date was accompanied by some other information from Blizzard. The free single-player content in “Kobolds and Catacombs” are Dungeon Runs. There are a total of 48 possible encounters in Dungeon Runs and three special events in the mode.

Players can take part in three sequential Dungeon Runs that each reward a “Kobolds and Catacombs” card pack. Blizzard announced that players can earn three card packs through Dungeon Runs and three more simply by logging on after “Kobolds and Catacombs” is released. Players will also earn a random Legendary Weapon card when they log in after release.

Hearthstone’s “Kobolds and Catacombs” release date announcement means that in less than two weeks we’ll have 135 new cards to play with. These cards will include the new keyword ‘Recruit’, new card types — Spellstones and Unidentified Items — and the ‘FOR THE HOARD!’ card back.

Of the 135 new cards in “Kobolds and Catacombs” we know that Temporus is going to be a big deal. Temporus is a Legendary card that allows players to take two-turns in a row. It’s a 7 cost 6/6 Dragon and it’s Battlecry reads “Your Opponent takes two turns. Then you take two turns.”

We can’t wait to see what people come up with.

Hearthstone is free-to-play on Android, iOS and PC.

Hearthstone’s “Kobolds and Catacombs” release date is December 8, 2017.
