SYDNEY, Australia – DECEMBER 5th, 2023 – Logitech G, a leading innovator in gaming technologies and gear, has officially introduced the Logitech G – ASTRO A50 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset and Base Station. This marks the fifth generation of the highly acclaimed ASTRO A50 Series console gaming headset.
The ASTRO A50 X follows the old adage of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”; maintaining a similar design to the model it replaces but drastically changing the internals. The A50 X is designed to provide the ultimate console headset experience, featuring groundbreaking innovations in audio and connectivity. Key features include:
- PLAYSYNC Technology: A groundbreaking innovation allowing seamless switching between Xbox, PS5, and PC with a single button press.
- PRO-G Graphene Audio Driver: Precision-engineered 40 mm graphene diaphragm for high-performance gaming audio.
- 24-bit LIGHTSPEED Wireless Technology: Delivering pro-grade wireless performance on consoles.
Ujesh Desai, General Manager of Logitech G, expressed excitement about the new release, stating, “Our new A50 X elevates this beloved headset with an unmatched level of performance by combining the A50’s award-winning design with several new features and advanced technologies that truly revolutionize gameplay.”
PLAYSYNC – One Click Switching Between Console and PC Platforms
The PLAYSYNC Technology is an industry-first, enabling gamers to connect their Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC/MAC simultaneously. Just plug everything into the new Dock via HDMI and USB cables and then switch not only audio but also video input with a click of a button on the A50 X headset. It sounds amazing and extremely convenient as you are not just controlling the consoles but also the TV or monitor.
The A50 X features the innovative PRO-G GRAPHENE Audio Driver, utilizing a 40 mm graphene diaphragm with a live edge suspension. This delivers superior audio performance, enhancing sound reproduction accuracy, time to signal accuracy, and distortion reduction. The result is a heightened gaming experience with clearer audio object identification and improved spatial awareness. We loved the implementation in the Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed Wireless headset.
Logitech G’s award-winning 24-bit LIGHTSPEED wireless technology ensures top-notch sound quality, reliable connectivity, and impressive battery life. Simultaneous Bluetooth connectivity on the Base Station allows users to mix Discord chat with game audio or listen to music while gaming. Sadly, the A50 X doesn’t support Bluetooth in the headset itself so you are limited to proximity of the base station.
Full Band High-Resolution 48KHz Microphone and G Hub support
The A50 X comes equipped with Logitech G’s first integrated high-resolution 16-bit 48 kHz LIGHTSPEED microphone. This provides broader sound spectrum capture, delivering unparalleled performance, clarity, and quality in a boom microphone. Users can control Game/Chat mix and volume between game and chat with on-ear controls.
Gamers can optimize their audio experience using G HUB on PC and the Logitech G App on iOS/Android devices. Control headset EQ presets, delve into the fully parametric EQ, and take advantage of the extended resolution of the microphone for broadcast-quality EQ settings. Users can fine-tune stream output audio mixing, specify sidetone amount, save custom presets, and more.
The ASTRO A50 X features parts with a minimum of 35 percent post-consumer recycled content, and the packaging is sourced from FSC-certified forests. The product is certified CarbonNeutral®, reflecting Logitech G’s commitment to offsetting carbon impact.
