New Destiny 2 ViDoc, Light in the Darkness, gives best look yet at Season of the Risen and The Witch Queen

The latest Destiny 2 ViDoc has been released overnight and it is a doozy. There’s a huge amount of information spilled in the 14-minute video as Bungie gears up for Season of the Risen and The Witch Queen in a couple of weeks. It’s hard not to get excited for the new content, especially when the devs are so excited they can barely contain themselves.

Bungie is calling The Witch Queen “an unsettling mystery” and claiming it will wrap up threads first planted in Destiny 1. It’s the beginning of the end for the Light and Dark saga of Destiny and so, Bungie is “shedding that dogma of light equals good, dark equals bad.”

Savathun is free of her chrysalis and has, somehow, taken the light. She and her Lucent Brood are wielding the light and the Guardians will need to travel into Savathun’s throne world to defeat them before they can push outwards into the galaxy at large.

The Witch Queen

There’s so much to go over in this ViDoc that you’re absolutely better off watching it instead of reading my version but the main points are;

  • The threat of light wielding Hive
  • Weapon Crafting and the new Glaive weapons
  • Void 3.0, aspects and overhaul
  • Caiatl working with the Guardians to suppress the Hive’s light
  • New armour and weapons
  • Legendary difficulty for the campaign
  • and much much more

Bungie is calling The Witch Queen its most ambitious expansion ever and is VERY excited for fans to get their hands on it.

I can tell you right now, I’m just as excited.

The Witch Queen and Season of the Risen will launch on February 23, 2022.
