How to skip driving in Mafia: Definitive Edition

In Mafia: Definitive Edition’s campaign, you spend most of your time either shooting and exploring or driving to the location you’ll be doing those things. While lots of great dialogue happens during these driving sequences, they’re not the most action-packed and can slow down the pace of things a bit.

For players who just want to get down to business, Hangar 13 included the Skip Drive feature from the 2002 original. By turning Skip Drive on, any time you’re presented with a non-essential driving section, you can press down on the D-Pad and skip right past it.

It’s kind of like fast-travel, but it only works during missions and only takes you where you need to go. Not where you want to go.

Mafia: Definitive Edition Skip Driving

To turn skip driving on, just go to Options then Game and scroll down to the bottom. It doesn’t affect trophies or difficulty settings in any way.

Unfortunately, you can’t skip the racing mission.

But it does reduce the amount of time you spend driving around Lost Heaven on the way to and from shootouts. If you’d rather the game plays with a quicker pace, this option might be for you.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is available now.
