State of Decay 3 is coming to Xbox Series X

At the Xbox Games Showcase today, Microsoft lifted the lid on State of Decay 3. The short, what looks to be, pre-rendered trailer, shows a very The Last of Us scene, with a lone woman, sitting at a campfire, scared and angry.

The trailer also shows what appears to be zombified animals, including a very scary looking deer.

As with all games shows at the Xbox Games Showcase, State of Decay 3 will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day 1.

State of Decay 3

Undead Labs, developer of State of Decay, has previously spoken how it wants to make a persistent, online MMO, zombie game.

In the case of Undead Labs, we absolutely want to go make State of Decay 3. That is a clear goal. That studio will have some other incubation, they’ll work on some things, but this is a State of Decay 3 team.

When we first started working on State of Decay, we had a much bigger game, a much more persistent online game, and I know that Undead Labs will get there eventually, but by bringing them into the Microsoft family.

I think we’re able to accelerate that and get us there sooner which is great

State of Decay 3 will be playable on PC and Xbox Series X.
