Audeze announces the Penrose Wireless Headset for PlayStation and Xbox

Audeze, manufacturer or premium audiophile headphones, has announced its new Penrose wireless headset. Designed for PlayStation and Xbox (and compatible with PC), the Penrose joins the LCD-GX and Mobius 3D Surround gaming headsets as part of the Audeze gaming family.

Audeze says the Penrose has been designed with next-gen consoles in mind and includes “Audeze’s 100mm planar magnetic drivers, a broadcast quality microphone for enhanced chat and streaming, and a 2.4 GHz low-latency lossless wireless connection.

The Penrose comes with a USB dongle to allow for connections to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in addition to current-gen consoles and PCs.

In addition to connecting to consoles and PC, the Penrose wireless gaming headset can connect to mobile devices using Bluetooth 5.0.

Bluetooth and wireless can be activated simultaneaously, allowing users to customise their listening experience in real-time through the Audeze HQ mobile desktop and mobile apps.

There are two version of the Penrose; one for PlayStation and one for Xbox.

Key features include:

  • Audeze 100mm planar magnetic drivers
  • Broadcast quality microphone
  • 2.4GHz lossless low-latency wireless
  • Bluetooth 5.0 (SBC and AAC)
  • Audeze HQ mobile and desktop app with custom EQ and sidetone toggling

Audeze CEO Sankar Thiagasamudram said, “We’re excited to finally offer gamers a true wireless planar headset. Penrose is a huge leap forward for wireless console gaming audio and we can’t wait for people to hear it.”
