After leaking earlier in the week, Ubisoft officially revealed Far Cry 6 as part of Ubisoft Forward today. Starring Giancarlo Esposito, Far Cry 6 is in development at Ubisoft Toronto and will launch on February 18, 2021.

Coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, Ubisoft confirmed those who purchase a PS4 or Xbox One copy of the game, will receive a free upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X version, within the same console family.

Far Cry 6 will be available via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store on PC.

Set in the “tropical paradise” of Yara, Far Cry 6 sees President Antón Castillo (Esposito) grooming his son to become El Presidente. From the trailer shown (below) Yara looks to be a country plagued by violence, poverty and crime.

Navid Khavari, Narrative Director, Ubisoft Toronto said;

Powerful and complex antagonists are part of Far Cry’s DNA, so right from the beginning we knew we had to raise the bar for who these characters could be and how they would come to life

Working with such an amazing roster of talent, including the one and only Giancarlo Esposito, and seeing how they embody our antagonists as terrifying but also deeply complex human characters has been an unbelievable experience that I can’t wait to share with our fans.

Far Cry 6 launches on February 18, 2021.
