Get Early Access to Obsidian’s Grounded with Game Pass in July

During the recent Inside Xbox episode, it was revealed that Grounded is going into Early Access on PC and Xbox this July. In addition, a brand-new story trailer was released that showed off the single-player portion of Grounded. It will be available through Xbox Game Preview on Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass for PC, Microsoft Store, and Steam Early Access.

Grounded takes place in a suburban backyard, except you’ve been shrunk down to the size of an insect. It’s like Honey, I Shrunk The Kids and who hasn’t wanted to be able to experience that movie in real life?

In Grounded, as you wake up in your shrunken state, the voice of a robot named BURG.L tells you that the machine that can get you back to normal size is broken. So, the only thing to do is survive.

Grounded

Players can tackle the backyard solo or with up to three friends and will have to fend off ants, bugs, spiders and more; all of which are out to get you. Survival depends on your ability to scavenge, craft, build-bases and fight.

This game is a real departure for Obsidian, who’s known for its in-depth, pen and paper style RPGs.

It looks like a lot of fun so far and it certainly brings back memories of watching Honey, I Shrunk The Kids with my brothers and all of us wishing we could ride our very own ant. And eat that giant cookie!

Grounded is coming to Early Access on July 28, 2020.
