Resident Evil 3 now available for pre-order, special edition includes Jill statue, Racoon City map and more

Capcom has announced that pre-orders for Resident Evil 3 are now open. It has also announced a special Collector’s Edition of the game that includes some special items. Included with the Resident Evil 3 Collector’s Edition is a copy of the game, a Jill Statue, art book, Racoon City map and a 2-disc soundtrack. The whole package comes in a box designed to look like the iconic item boxes from the Resident Evil series.

Coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on April 3, 2020, Resident Evil 3 is a remake of the 1999 PS1 game. Capcom celebrated the 20th anniversary of Resident Evil in December 2019 when it announced the remake.

In 2019, Capcom released Resident Evil 2, to critical acclaim (including from this very site). Shortly after, rumours of a remake of Resident Evil 3 surfaced.

Resident Evil 3

Resident Evil 3 is built using the same RE Engine as Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 and will take players back to Racoon City for a final time. Starring Jill Valentine, Resident Evil 3 is set before, during and after Resident Evil 2 as Jill tries to escape from the Nemesis.

A special, prototype Tyrant, the Nemesis is tasked with finding and stopping the S.T.A.R.S. and is relentless in his pursuit.

Resident Evil 3 retains the classic survival horror of the series but like Resident Evil 2’s remake, it will “come to life as never before with RE Engine,” modern visuals and gameplay mechanics.

Resident Evil 3 will launch on April 3, 2020, for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
