Bungie launches Guardians for Australia campaign to raise money for animal rescue and conservation

Australia is currently experiencing its worst natural disaster ever. As of January 14, 2020, it’s estimated that 18.6 million hectares have been burned, 5,900 buildings have been destroyed, including 2,683 homes and at least 29 people have died. Additionally, it’s estimated that one billion animals have been killed and that some endangered species may have become extinct.

While the events are tragic and horrible, lots of fundraising efforts and donations from kind-hearted folks have meant that a huge amount of money has been raised to assist firefighters, help the communities, assist in the rescue and rehabilitation of animals and more.

Today, Bungie has launched its Guardians for Australia campaign. A very special t-shirt has been added to the Bungie Store and all profits will be donated to WIRES and to the NSW Rural Fire Service.

Guardians for Australia

WIRES is Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation and is facing an unprecedented need for its services. The RFS is having to deal with truly horrendous conditions and is doing its best to protect life and property.

The Guardians for Australia t-shirt costs $24.99 USD and comes with the special Star Light, Star Bright Emblem for Destiny 2.

Bungie has advised that the EU Bungie Store does not give an option to ship to Australia but the US store does. It has also said that it has “worked to get shipping to Australia for this T-shirt down as much as possible.”

Shipping to Melbourne via Standard International Shipping will cost $7.50 USD which converts to a total cost of $47 AUD for the shirt and shipping.

Bungie has also congratulated local Guardians who have raised over $12,000 AUD for the Australian Red Cross. Check out their fundraiser here.

Great initiative by Bungie. Make sure you grab your t-shirt and support the groups putting in the hard work.
