If you’ve somehow forgotten, here’s a handy reminder that The Rise of Skywalker is out in one month

It’s not likely, but on the off chance you’d forgotten, we wanted to remind you that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be coming to cinemas in one month’s time. Opening on December 19, The Rise of Skywalker is the third and final film in the new trilogy and will finish Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo Ren’s stories. Not to mention all of those other characters too.

Directed by J.J. Abrams, The Rise of Skywalker will finally see an end of the millennia-long battle between the Jedi and the Sith.

While Carrie Fisher’s General Leia was set to have a pivotal role in the film, Fisher’s death in 2016 put the character’s involvement in doubt. However, with the permission of Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd, unused footage from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi will be used to include Leia.

The Rise of Skywalker

The Force Awakens saw the return of Han Solo and Leia Organa and The Last Jedi brought Luke Skywalker back. In this final film, Billy Dee Williams will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian.

Most shocking of all, it was announced at Star Wars celebration that Ian McDiarmid will return to play Emperor Palpatine once more. Despite his character thought to be dead at the end of Return of the Jedi, it seems you just can’t keep a bad Sith down.

It’s not long now until we all get to see how the Skywalker Saga ends and to see if years of devising theories will pay off.

The Rise of Skywalker will be released in cinemas on December 19 and you can get tickets here.
