Overwatch Legendary Edition now available on Switch, Halloween Terror 2019 also live

It’s a huge day for Overwatch! Not only is the game now available for Switch but it’s also the first day of Halloween Terror 2019. Fans can now play Overwatch in TV, Tabletop and Handheld modes on Switch as well as collecting the new Halloween skins and other cosmetics. Not only that but with Halloween Terror 2019 live, you can collect all of the previous years’ Halloween Terror cosmetics too.

Announced for Switch in early September, Blizzard confirmed that it would be the Legendary Edition which includes 15 bonus skins and a three month Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Blizzard also told us that it would run at 30 frames per second on Switch, 900p when docked and 720p in handheld mode. We were also advised that there would not be any cross-play at launch.

The Switch version will come with all 31 heroes and 28 maps and has some new motion controls to try out. For example, players can tilt the Joy-Cons or Switch console (in handheld mode) to control Junkrat’s RIP-Tire.

All Overwatch players, including those on Switch, will be able to take part in Halloween Terror from today. In 2019, Weekly Challenges are back and allow players to unlock special rewards after winning nine games.

These special, time-limited rewards include the Legendary Demon Hunter Sombra Skin. Five new Legendary Halloween skins have been added in 2019; Pharaoh Ana, Warlock Ashe, Demon Orisa, Will-o’-Wisp Tracer, Scorpion Widowmaker.

Three Epic skins have also been added in addition to a bunch of emotes, sprays and voice-lines. You can check out some of the Halloween content in the gallery below.

Halloween Terror 2019 runs from today, October 16, 2019, through November 5, 2019.

Overwatch is available on PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
