A JRPG based on the Fairy Tail Manga and Anime is coming in 2020

Koei Tecmo and GUST Studio have announced that they’ll be bringing a JRPG based on Fairy Tail to PC, PS4 and Switch in 2020. Based on Hiro Mashima’s best-selling Japanese manga, Fairy Tail is the first game based on the property to be released on consoles in the west. While not much is known about the game at this stage, Koei Tecmo will reveal more at Tokyo Game Show 2019.

In Fairy Tail, players will journey to the land of Fiore and experience the adventures of Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heartfilia in addition to a host of other Fairy Tail guild members.

GUST Studios is developing the game under the watchful eye and supervision of Hiro Mashima, to ensure the game is as true to the source material as possible.

Fairy Tail Game

In the Fairy Tail game, Koei Tecmo is promising “demons, dark wizards and cats.”

In the manga, the story follows Natsu as he searches Earth-land for the dragon Igneel. He makes friends and adventures with them for the Fairy Tail guild.

What parts of the story the Fairy Tail game will focus on isn’t clear, but fans should be excited either way.

Fairy Tail is coming to PC, PS4 and Switch in 2020.
