Control Guide – How to Level Up in Control

As you play Control you’ll unlock new abilities and gain ability points. As you complete missions, find hidden areas and more, you’ll be given ability points which you can use to level up and increase the power of your abilities.

When you start out, Jesse doesn’t have access to many abilities, but the more Objects of Power you find, the more you’ll be able to do. This includes Dash, Launch, Shield, Seize and Levitate.

As you earn ability points you’re able to spend them to upgrade your Health, Energy (used to perform abilities), Melee and all abilities. You’re also able to unlock additional uses for some abilities.

However, when you first start playing Control, you’re not able to upgrade your abilities and if you’re not paying attention, you may miss the game’s explanation on how to level up.

How to Level Up in Control

Once you’ve completed the ‘Unkown Caller’ Mission, exit the Board Room after speaking with Emily Pope and head to the Control Point. Access the Control Point and you’ll be presented with the menu in the image above.

Select the abilities menu and you’ll be taken to this screen.

At the early stages of the game, you won’t have access to many abilities, however, it won’t take long to unlock them.

Upgrading abilities can only be done at Control Points and the cost of upgrading varies by ability and level. You’ll want to complete as many missions, side missions and find hidden locations in order to max out your abilities.

Control is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
