Netgear has announced three new Netgear Nighthawk Wi-Fi 6 routers to coincide with the launch of the new Wi-Fi standard. In addition, the new standard and the new Netgear Nighthawk routers has been designed to handle the load that the average Australian home requires.

According to available data, on average, Australian homes have 17 devices connected and operating at any one time. This means that home networks are currently being pushed beyong the technicial limits of Wi-Fi 5.

Wi-Fi 6 has been designed to offer ” users 4X faster speeds and capacity as well as the opportunity to support up to 12 streams at once, without lag or disruption.”

The actual quality of the connection for each Wi-Fi device will also be improved by reducing the interference between them, thus ensuring that the experience of lag or buffering is reduced during online gameplay or streaming Ultra HD 8K/4K.

David Henry, senior vice president of Connected Home Products for Netgear said, ” Wi-Fi 6 is the most significant change to the Wi-Fi standard in over 6 years.
