Journey to the West inspired, Unruly Heroes, heads to PS4 this month

Unruly Heroes is an action-platformer from Montpellier, France based Magic Design Studios. Loosely based on the Chinese folk-tale, Journey to the West, Unruly Heroes is available for PC, Switch and Xbox One and is finally coming to PS4.

Available from the end of May, Unruly Heroes gives players four characters to use and includes the new Challenger Update which is coming to other platforms at a later date.

The four playable characters are Wukong the Monkey Kong, Sanzang the Sleepy Monk, Kihong the Greedy Pig and Sandmonk the Sensitive Brute.

Unruly Heroes features hand-drawn visuals that give it an almost storybook look and feel and each of the four characters has specific abilities and attacks that need to be used to get through the world.

Playable in both single player and co-op, Unruly Heroes has been designed to work for both. According to Sebastien Delord, Lead Designer;

On the surface, Unruly Heroes can be mistaken for a traditional platforming game but we really hope with the launch of the PlayStation 4 version we will be able to connect with a new audience who will really understand the amazing challenge that our game has to offer for lone players, groups of adventurers or those who like to go head-to-head against friends

Playing on PS4 will give players the first chance to try Challenge Update content which adds new difficulty modes, character skins and a photo mode.

Unruly Heroes is coming to PS4 on May 29, 2019.
