Krispy Kreme is bringing retro games to Facebook and Instagram with Throwback Party

Throwback Party is a new, retro-inspired range of doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. To celebrate the launch of these new doughnuts, Krispy Kreme has launched a virtual arcade on Instagram and Facebook.

This retro-inspired virtual arcade includes four doughnut-themed versions of classic games from the 90s. The games have been selected to match the flavours of the Throwback Party range.

Additionally, the virtual arcade includes a leaderboard with a year’s supply of Krispy Kremes up for grabs.

The brand-new doughnuts will be on sale from April 30 across Australia and includes;

  • Cookie Dough
  • Finger Bun
  • Fairy Bread
  • Choc Brownie Batter

The games for each of these new flavours are;

  • Cookie Dough’s Krispy Kart – Fans can get behind the wheel go-kart-style and race their way through rolls of dough.
  • Finger Bun Fighter – Players will hit the virtual streets and kick their way through the icing.
  • Fairy Bread Fantasy – Gamers can live out their childhood fantasy in this magical platform game.
  • Choc Brownie Batter Bash – This puzzle game will have fans smashing their way through chunks of chocolate.

Accessing the Krispy Kreme Throwback Party is done via Krispy Kreme’s Instagram and Facebook stories. Users can swipe up to play the games and record their scores for the chance to win the top prize. The top three players will earn a year’s supply of Krispy Kreme, six months of Krispy Kreme and three months of Krispy Kreme respectively.

You can view the leaderboards on the Krispy Kreme website.

Krispy Kreme’s Russell Schulman said;

We all love reminiscing about childhood memories and especially when tied to the food and pop culture of the time. We wanted to capture that and express it in the best way possible by creating a limited-edition doughnut range that Krispy Kreme fans of all ages can enjoy and celebrate these memories.”

We’re also glazing a new trail by making digital history with an Instagram-first, transforming our Instagram platform into retro-inspired virtual arcade, giving Australians the ultimate throwback experience!

Throwback Party doughnuts will be available for a limited time.

You can play the virtual arcade on Facebook and Instagram.

I've been playing games for the past 27 years and have been writing for almost as long. Combining two passions in the way I'm able is a true privilege. PowerUp! is a labour of love and one I am so excited to share.
