Is the latest Smash Bros trailer teasing Banjo-Kazooie?

Ok, this might be jumping the gun, but the latest trailer for Smash Bros Ultimate revealing the release date for Joker seems to have teased that Banjo and Kazooie may be coming as a DLC fighter.

During the section of the new trailer, below, you can clearly see a gigantic witch figure stirring a cauldron.

The witch is pretty generic and is accompanies by a black cat, however, she does share a striking resemblance with Gruntilda from Banjo-Kazooie. Additionally, witches are not generally characters that have or do appear in Nintendo games.

Banjo Smash Bros

Look, it may be clutching at straws, but Banjo in Smash Bros would be a huge deal and he’s certainly one of the most wanted guest characters of all. Those of us who grew up with the N64 remember playing Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie which were two of the best games released on the system.

If Rare, Nintendo and Microsoft have come to an arrangement and have somehow put Banjo in Smash Bros Ultimate, they’ll have made a lot of dreams come true.

Here’s hoping.

What do you think? Do you think this is a Banjo tease?
