SEGA unveils Team Sonic Racing details and a cartoon at SXSW

At SXSW today, SEGA unveiled some brand-new details about the upcoming Team Sonic Racing. The announcements were made at the ‘Gotta Go Fast’ panel that featured Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka, Community Manager Aaron Webber, Director of Product Development Austin Keys, Sonic Series Composer Jun Senoue and TV Animation Production Coordinator Jasmin Hernandez.

At the panel, a look at how vehicle customisation will work in-game was provided.

By customising vehicles in Team Sonic Racing, players will be able to make their vehicle the best it can possibly be.

Team Sonic Racing Details

The video above gives players a brief look at customisation which includes;

  • Mod Pods
  • Power-Ups
  • Paint Jobs
  • Skins
  • Custom Horns
  • Parts for the front and rear
  • Wheels
  • Performance and Handling Alterations

To upgrade your vehicle, you’ll need to earn in-game credits through racing. With these you can purchase modifications to make your vehicle your very own.

It will be available for PS4, Switch and Xbox One on May 21.
