Check out the official trailer for the live-action version of Aladdin

Today, Disney has released the official trailer for Aladdin. In a Tweet, Disney Australia/New Zealand shared the video, which you can see below.

In the trailer, we get to see Aladdin in what looks to be the scene from the animation where he outruns the palace guards after stealing some fruit. We also see Jafar leading him to the Cave of Wonders and more of Will Smith’s Genie.

While the initial teasers seemed to show that Will Smith might have been miscast, it looks as though he won’t be blue for the entirety of the movie. Which makes sense, given any normal person would question a blue guy walking around.

Fans will also be pleased to hear a snippet from “A Whole New World” and see Aladdin and Jasmine’s blossoming romance on screen.

There’s still a lot about this live-action remake that remains unknown, but for now, it certainly looks as though it’s going to be a winner.

Let’s hope it is when it hits cinemas on May 23.
