Skybound and Beamdog are bringing Baldur’s Gate, Planescape Torment and Neverwinter Nights to console

Skybound Games has teamed up with Beamdog to bring a handful of classic RPGs to console in 2019. Beamdog, founded in 2009 by BioWare co-founder Trent Oster and BioWare lead programmer Cameron Tofer, the developer has worked almost exclusively on enhanced editions of classic RPGs.

These enhanced editions include;

  • Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition 
  • Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition 
  • Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition 
  • Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
  • Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition
  • Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition 

Beamdog’s partnership with Skybound Games will see six of Beamdog’s games released on consoles for the first time ever. Each of these console released will be the enhanced editions.

The games to be released for console are Baldur’s GateBaldur’s Gate llBaldur’s Gate: Siege of DragonspearIcewind DalePlanescape: Torment, and Neverwinter Nights.

Beamdog has confirmed that these titles will be released for PS4, Switch and Xbox One. Playing these classics on the Switch on the go sounds too good to be true!
