MAD CATZ resurrects with a new line of RAT mouses

MAD CATZ, a PC gaming peripherals manufacturer famous for the award-winning RAT line of mouses, has resurrected from the ashes of bankruptcy with an exciting new line up.

Selena Chang, Director of Sales and Operations for Mad Catz Global Limited spoke about the companies return and what the future may hold.

We’ve been working hard to ensure the new products do justice to the incredible Mad Catz legacy and we’re delighted to start shipping the first products in the new range.

The RAT mouses are known for their adjustability, comfort and cutting-edge sensor technology. Not only that, but they look seriously badass; like something the Predator would use.

So let’s see what the new line is, shall we?

RAT MOUSES – RAT4+

The R.A.T.4+ is constructed around a super lightweight chassis ensuring the sensor position is perfectly balanced for tracking on your gaming surface.

It features OMRON switches with a life cycle of 20 million clicks. LED’s provide multi-zone backlighting to give it that personalized glow for setup matching.

The Pixart PMW 3330 optical sensor promises top-notch performance in gaming.

R.A.T.6+

Next up is the R.A.T.6+ which extends the customization options with nine programmable buttons and adjustable palm rest.

Add on a removable weight system that allows you to find the ideal weight for your play style.

Of course, as a gaming mouse, the R.A.T.6+ has Chameleon RGB Intelligent Lighting.

With three separate zones and 16 million colours, you will be spoilt for choice. Finally, the OMRON switches in the R.A.T.6+ are tested up to 50 million clicks.

R.A.T.8+

The R.A.T.8+ is designed for the professional gamer. The PMW 3389 optical sensor in this mouse delivers the highest precision for any gaming genre.

Adding to the adjustable palm rest of the R.A.T.6+, the R.A.T.8+ brings adjustable thumb rest and removable pinkie grip. Now that’s hardcore.

Onboard memory allows you to save three profiles that control the personalized macro button, sensor and lighting settings.

R.A.T. Pro s3

Lastly, we have the R.A.T Pro S3 looks to sit somewhere in between the R.A.T.6+ and 8+.

It has an adjustable palm rest which you can make lateral and horizontal adjustments.

The palm rest tilts plus or minus 15 degrees side to side and extends up to 12mm from the mainframe.

The Pro 3 also comes with OMRON switches and Chameleon RGB Lighting.

The new line of R.A.T. mouses are shipping across selected Euro territories, with North America and the rest of the world coming online in the weeks ahead.
