Salt and Sanctuary heads to Switch next month

Ska Studios has announced today that its “hand-drawn 2D Soulslike platformer” Salt and Sanctuary is launching for Switch in August. First released in 2016 for PS4, Salt and Sanctuary was later released for PC, and PS Vita.

In the time since launch, Salt and Sanctuary has sold over 800,000 copies. Now, the incredibly successful game is headed to Switch.

Salt and Sanctuary Switch will include all the content from the original release and a special retail edition; Salt and Sanctuary Drowned Tome Edition will be available later this year.

Salt and Sanctuary Switch

Salt and Sanctuary was developed by Ska Studios, whose founders Michelle and James Silva said;

The two of us wanted to create a Soulslike game that we wanted to play, and finding that so many others who wanted it too warmed our dark little hearts.

Bringing Salt and Sanctuary to the Nintendo Switch means more people who like dismal, satisfying games can play our very dismal, satisfying game.

In the game, players can choose from a range of classes, weapons and strategies. However you choose to play, you’ll need to be mindful of everything.

Choose your weapons carefully and level up your character through an enormous skill-tree.

Salt and Sanctuary includes 2o bosses, multiple endings, New Game + and a range of special modes to extend the life and replayability of the game.

Salt and Sanctuary is coming to Switch on August 2 via the eShop.

It will cost $17.99 USD (local pricing TBC).
