Vampyr is now available, check out the launch trailer

Vampyr is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. To celebrate the release, DONTNOD has released the Vampyr launch trailer. Set in London in 1918, Vampyr stars Dr Jonathan Reid, a returning World War I veteran and newly created vampire.

Set during the deadly Spanish Flu epidemic, Vampyr tasks Dr Reid with curing the epidemic, solving the mystery of his murder and trying to stay his bloodlust.

In Vampyr, players are able to consume the blood of any of London’s civilians to gain huge amounts of XP, but doing so has dire consequences. Will you avoid killing or will you give in to your vampire desires and take London by force?

Developed by DONTNOD — Life is Strange, Remember MeVampyr puts an emphasis on narrative and human interaction. The more you learn about the people you’re trying to save, the more XP you can earn by killing them.

You’ll need to walk a delicate tight-rope though, kill too many civilians and the district will be plunged into chaos. It will become overrun by monsters and all civilians will be murdered.

RELATED: VAMPYR REVIEW

In my review of Vampyr I wrote;

Vampyr has its flaws, but even with them, it’s a great game. I had a tremendous time exploring London, uncovering the mystery of its epidemic and learning about the role of vampires in society. Helping matters greatly is that Dr Reid is incredibly likeable and easy to empathise with.

Vampyr is available now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
