8-Bit Armies is bringing fast-paced RTS to PS4 and Xbox One

Get ready for some high-octane, fast-paced RTS action when 8-Bit Armies launches for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in September. Coming from developer Petroglyph Games which was founded by core members of Westwood Studios (Command & Conquer).

Publisher Soedesco will be bringing 8-Bit Armies to the masses and will be following up on the success of the publishing of Owlboy.

8-Bit Armies aims to be a blast from the past for RTS fans and offer something new and familiar at the same time.

8-Bit Armies

Coming from the talent behind the Command & Conquer series gives 8-Bit Armies some serious pedigree. As you can see in the gameplay trailer below, 8-Bit Armies takes the best bits of old-school RTS games and adds a fun modern twist.

Developed specifically for consoles, 8-Bit Armies features a simplified control-scheme that enables players to take control of hundreds of units at a time. “Players can easily collect resources, build up and defend their bases, amass armies of easy to command military units, research devastating superweapons and ultimately crush their opponents.”

Features included in 8-Bit Armies are;

    •  Obliterate your enemies in a variety of colorful, destructible maps
    •  Complete 40 single-player missions and 12 co-op missions
    •  Compete in online multiplayer with up to five other players or AIs
    •  Enjoy easy controls that are perfectly adapted to consoles
    • Play with easy to understand military units and structures

The soundtrack for 8-Bit Armies is being composed by Frank Klepacki, who was the composer for Command & Conquer and should sound familiar to fans of the series.

8-Bit Heroes is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on September 21, 2018.
