Ubisoft’s AI companion Sam seems to have outed Watch Dogs 3

Finding out that Watch Dogs 3 is in development wouldn’t be a shock. However, finding out about it would still be nice to know. And it seems that’s what may have happened.

In January, Ubisoft released Sam, a digital AI companion like Siri. Sam is embedded in the Ubisoft Club mobile app, but is only available for in beta in Canada at the moment.

However, when users have asked Sam about Watch Dogs 3, they’re given a surprising response.

Watch Dogs 3 coming to E3?

Multiple users have asked Sam about Watch Dogs 3 in a variety of ways and all of them have received the same response.

Watch Dogs 3 is not finished yet, but from the last early build I tried it’s very solid. The Dev team works wonders! Can’t wait for you to try it!

At the time of writing, it seems Sam has been changed and now no longer responds in the above way. Instead, it claims not to know anything about a sequel.

Thankfully, Ubicentral captured footage of someone asking Sam the question before the changes were made and you can see its response in the video below.

Watch Dogs 3 Hack the Planet

It’s not just Sam’s response that seems to be alluding to Watch Dogs 3. An April Fool’s prank by Ubisoft also seems to have hinted at the sequel.

On April 1, 2018 (April Fool’s Day) Ubisoft let users access the ‘console’ for UPlay, though in reality, it was really a Watch Dogs easter egg. It featured the familiar Watch Dogs hacking imagery and console colours and typeface.

Finally, in a deleted tweet, the Watch Dogs account posted “This is Everything.” It seems odd to have deleted the tweet and as mentioned in Ubicentral’s video makes it seem like Ubisoft is trying to hype up the franchise.

With all of this evidence pointing towards Watch Dogs 3, I think we’ll be seeing a reveal at Ubisoft’s press conference at E3.
