Australian Overwatch League viewers can now earn OWL Tokens by watching

Blizzard has announced that it is launching Overwtach League Rewards Australia. The rewards program that has already been running overseas is now available in Australia.

Overwatch League Rewards Australia allows fans to earn Overwatch League Tokens simply by watching matches on Twitch.

Viewers who earn League Tokens can redeem them for Overwatch League content in-game.

Overwatch League Rewards Australia

Viewership rewards have already been launched in New Zealand and with the inclusion of Australia, it’s an easy way for fans to earn Tokens.

As part of the rewards program, viewers can earn one League Token per map win and they will be credited to viewers’ Blizzard accounts. To access them on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, all accounts will need to be linked.

Instructions on how to sign-up for and earn rewards is as follows;

Twitch.tv viewers:

  1. Create or log in to your Blizzard Battle.net account.
  2. Link your Twitch account to your Battle.net account.
  3. Be watching live when a team wins a map!

Overwatch League Rewards

When it comes to earning and redeeming rewards, Blizzard has put together some handy information for viewers.

In order to redeem League Tokens, you’ll need to own the license for Overwatch. This is pretty straight-forward, I would have thought. If you don’t own Overwatch on PC, PS4 or Xbox One, you won’t be able to redeem your tokens.

That being said, if you have earned tokens and then purchase Overwatch, they’ll be waiting for you once you link your Blizzard account. If you don’t redeem your Tokens into Overwatch by December 31, 2018, they will be forfeited and will not be replaced.

Finally, the special 100 Token Drop is not yet available in Australia. Blizzard says it may bring this to the region, but it is a complex situation due to legal and technical requirements.

Australia is the most recent country to be able to earn Overwatch League viewership rewards and joins the following countries;

  • Argentina
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Chile
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Mexico
  • the Netherlands
  • New Zealand
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Russia
  • Saudi Arabia
  • South Korea
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • Taiwan
  • Thailand
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

Viewership rewards are available via Twitch.tv, the Twitch app, MLG.com, overwatchleague.com, the Overwatch League app, the Battle.net launcher, and the Overwatch in-game client. Note that viewers on the MLG app will not be eligible.
