Watch Donkey Country Tropical Freeze load times compared, Switch vs Wii U

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Switch was announced recently. Bringing the latest Donkey Kong platformer to Switch is a no-brainer.

With additions like Funky Kong and the new beginner mode, Tropical Freeze on Switch is going to be the definitive version.

Thanks to GameXplain, who played Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Switch at Comic-Con, we have a video (below) that shows the loading times of the Switch version compared to the Wii U one.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Switch

As GameXplain points out in the video, loading times on Switch can vary. Factors include whether the game is being played from a cart, internal memory or SD Card.

In addition, as the version of Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Switch is not final, the loading times may not be exactly the same at release. That being said, GameXplain is confident they will be similar, if not identical.

Differences in loading times also apply to the Wii U version of the game, so GameXplain has tested both disc and internal memory versions of Tropical Freeze.

As you can imagine, the Switch version absolutely smashes the Wii U, loading 10-15 seconds faster.

The video above shows the loading comparisons. It also includes some footage of the game being played in both handheld and TV modes.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is coming to Switch on May 4, 2018.
