Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire’s features trailer gives you a taste for adventure

We’re big, big fans of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire at PowerUp!. Obsidian and Versus Evil have made our day today but releasing the Pillars of Eternity 2 features trailer.

In the new trailer (below), players are introduced to the range of features that will make your adventure the best it can be. The focus is on your party, your ship and the incredible journey you’ll take together.

Pillars of Eternity 2 features trailer

While it was a bit of a blow when Pillars of Eternity 2 was delayed into May all seems to be well with the project. The Pillars of Eternity 2 features trailer, certainly shows that the game is coming along nicely.

At only two-minutes long, the trailer manages to cover an enormous number of topics and really make Pillars of Eternity 2 look, and, especially sound, epic.

Fans will get a closer look at choosing companions, captaining ships, exploration, the ruins of the Deadfire Archipelago and of course the main quest which sees you hunting a god to save your soul.

In the time I spent with Pillars of Eternity 2, I was blown away by how deep and complex the systems were. While the Pillars of Eternity 2 features trailer doesn’t go in-depth, it does give a very quick and satisfying overview.

This trailer is for whetting the appetite more than anything else.

Pillars of Eternity 2 Pre-Orders

Pre-orders for Pillars of Eternity 2 are now open via the Steam page and doing so grants exclusive, bonus loot.

Pillars of Eternity 2 is available in three different versions, Standard, Deluxe and Obsidian. The Standard Edition includes the game only, while the Deluxe and Obsidian Editions come with a swathe of extra content.

Of the included bonus loot, there are DLC expansions, in-game pets, maps and the like. Every pre-order will also come with;

  • St. Drogga’s Skull: Crafted from a sabre and the skull of a martyr it will slash and burn enemies in combat, while also guiding players through the darkest reaches of the Deadfire.

  • Beakhead, the Hawk (In-Game Pet): Beakhead, the white hawk, took a liking to your ship soon after you arrived in the Deadfire. Captains in the Deadfire are only as effective as their crew, and with this jaunty first-mate by your side you’re bound to find success at sea.

  • The Black Flag: This flag is said to have been flown by a mysterious and rowdy band of seadogs from a far-off land, who dyed their sails black with a stain made from ground-up dragon glass. Dark and intimidating, but somehow attractive, nonetheless.

Pillars of Eternity 2 will be available for PC on May 8.

It will be coming to PS4, Switch and Xbox One later in 2018.
