Iron Banner’s Overwatch Easter Egg

Destiny 2’s Iron Banner is now live. WIth it, comes the return of the Iron Lord Saladin. This time around, Saladin is commentating matches rather than Shaxx and he’s fire. He’s also the delivery method for an Overwatch Easter Egg. That’s right, there’s an Iron Banner Overwatch Easter Egg.

To find it you’re going to have to be pretty damn good though. The video above was captured by Wayne Ng and posted to YouTube. The Easter Egg starts about 15-seconds in. At the point Ng manages to reach a 20-kill streak, Saladin suddenly does his best reaper impersonation.

“Die! Die! Di-*cough* Sorry I’ve been watching too many Iron Banner matches. What time is it? Shaxx? Shaxx, are you there? Can you get me a water? Stop yelling, it’s just a question. I’m not old!”

Brilliant!

Bungie and Blizzard are cousins of sorts, by way of publisher Activision. Oh and the voice of Saladin, Keith Ferguson? Yep, he’s also the voice of Reaper too. That’s why it sounds so spot-on.

Awesome work by Wayne Ng to capture the moment. Anyone else managed to trigger an Iron Banner Death Blossom?

Destiny 2 is available for PS4 and Xbox One. Iron Banner is live now through October 18. The Prestige Raid is scheduled to go live the same day.
