New Splatoon 2 content coming next month in a free update

Nintendo has announced a swathe of content for its titles during Gamescom and Splatoon 2 is chief among them.

Coming early next month, a free update will give players a taste of the Bubble Blower special which is available with the Forge Splattershot Pro. Both weapons will be available from September 2, so keep your eyes open for an update to Sheldon’s store.

A livestream from Gamescom, viewable on Nintendo UK’s YouTube channel will give fans a look at these new weapons ahead of time.

In addition, this Saturday, brand new map Manta Maria will be available for Ranked Battles and Turf War. A new Salmon Run stage, Lost Outpost, is available even sooner though. And by sooner, we mean today!

If you’d like to see it in action, make sure you tune into Nintendo of Europe’s YouTube channel today from 9pm AEST.

Splatoon 2 is exclusive to Nintendo Switch. Read our review here.
