Nintendo reveals the NX is a home console

…but that doesn’t mean that’s all it is.

The image above is now shown on Nintendo’s website and as you can see, it reads “Watch the preview trailer for Nintendo’s next home gaming system.” This is and of itself doesn’t seem like a massive revelation, after all, we’ve all assumed the NX would be a home based system.

What it does do though, is make it seem less likely that the NX is — as is rumoured to be — a hybrid handheld/console device. Or it may be exactly that and this may be Nintendo’s way of having a bit of fun. Or even more likely is that those words were chosen because they’re the ones we’re all most familiar and comfortable with.

In any case, the wait until 1 am AEDT tonight is going to be a long one.
