Foundation season 3 returns to Apple TV+ on 11 July 2025

Today, Apple TV+ has lifted the lid on the first trailer for Foundation season 3. Returning to Apple TV+ on Friday, 11 July 2025, Foundation season 3 continues “the epic saga” from David S. Goyer.

Based on Isaac Asimov’s stories, Foundation features a star-studded cast, including Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Cherry Jones, Brandon P. Bell, Synnøve Karlsen, Cody Fern, Tómas Lemarquis, Alexander Siddig, Oscar-winner Troy Kotsur and Pilou Asbæk.

Foundation season 3 will feature 10 episodes with one debuting on 11 July, followed by one new episode each week through 12 September.

Foundation

Per Apple TV+, “Foundation has captivated audiences with its intricate world-building, stunning visuals, bold storytelling, and compelling performances. Season three continues the epic chronicle of a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilisation amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.”

Season 3 is set 152 years after the events of season 2 and sees the titular Foundation becoming “increasingly established far beyond its humble beginnings while the Cleonic Dynasty’s Empire has dwindled.”

“As both of these galactic powers forge an uneasy alliance, a threat to the entire galaxy appears in the fearsome form of a warlord known as “The Mule” whose sights are set on ruling the universe by use of physical and military force, as well as mind control. It’s anyone’s guess who will win, who will lose, who will live and who will die as Hari Seldon, Gaal Dornick, the Cleons and Demerzel play a potentially deadly game of intergalactic chess,” Apple TV+ said.

Foundation Season 3 will release on Apple TV+ from 11 July 2025. The entire first and second seasons are available to stream now.
