Honey Don’t! is coming to Aussie cinemas on 21 August 2025

Universal Pictures has today released the official trailer for Honey Don’t!. Directed and co-written by Ethan Coen, Honey Don’t! is a dark comedy starring Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Day, Billy Eichner and Chris Evans.

The trailer makes it clear that even though this is Ethan Coen working without his brother, Honey Don’t! very much fits into the Coen’s oeuvre. It’s kooky, fun, weird and a little bit dangerous, and the cast looks as though they’re having the time of their life.

Honey Don’t!

Per Universal, “Honey Don’t! is a dark comedy about Honey O’Donahue, a small-town private investigator, who delves into a series of strange deaths tied to a mysterious church.” Co-written by Tricia Cooke (Drive-Away Dolls), it’s being billed as “The second in a lesbian B-movie trilogy” for Coen and Cooke.

Set to have its premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, Honey Don’t! will hit Aussie cinemas on 21 August 2025.
