Saw X and Xbox team up to celebrate the film’s release and Saw comes to Roblox

In celebration of Saw X and Jigsaw’s return to the big screen, Xbox, Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures have teamed up to let fans experience what it’s like to be trapped inside a Saw film. An interactive, trap-filled livestream took place earlier today and gave fans the chance to become a Saw protagonist.

Lionsgate has advised that “Jigsaw has trapped an Xbox Series X and the newly launched Xbox Series S in Carbon Black, featuring a 1TB SSD in one of his infamous traps, and it’s up to the viewers to use Twitch commands to solve the puzzle.”

If viewers are able to disarm the trap, those who participated will be in the running to win a range of prizes including an Xbox Series S in Carbon Black, a Saw Billy puppet and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions.

Saw X

The live stream started at 4am, 27 September 2023 AEST on the Xbox Twitch Channel so unfortunately, it wasn’t something Aussie fans were able to easily take part in, but let’s hope the Xbox was freed safe and sound.

Something that is still running and that fans can take part in, even in Australia, is the Saw Obby coming soon to Roblox. Thanks to the recent ability in Roblox to create an experience for players over 17 years and over, SAW X: Survive the Obby will launch on October 1 and becomes the first ever “immersive experience based on an R-rated movie or TV-MA rated television property and designed for people ages 17 and older on Roblox.”

In the Saw Obby, which was sponsored by Six Flags, players will tackle a set of obstacle courses and take part in a Roblox version of Jigsaw’s games. By playing SAW X: Survive the Obby, “Roblox users who survive will have the opportunity to earn a spot on the leaderboard and unlock complimentary, limited edition themed fashion and accessory items for their avatars to show off across the Roblox platform. All visitors will be required to upload a selfie and a photo of a government-issued ID to verify that they are at least 17 in order to enter the experience.”

Jenefer Brown, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate said, “Get ready for a Roblox experience like no other. Roblox users have grown up on the platform – Roblox’s fastest growing demo is 17-24 year olds – and they are eager and excited to immerse themselves in their new favorite IP. SAW is leading the way – this is the fans’ chance to live out the SAW experience for themselves. And oh yes, Roblox users, there will be blood.”

Saw X will arrive in cinemas on 29 September 2023 and SAW X: Survive the Obby will be available in Roblox on 1 October 2023.
