Bethesda has responded to DOOM Eternal composer Mick Gordon’s lengthy post regarding the difficulties and issues that arose while working on the game’s soundtrack. In a statement published on Bethesda’s social media accounts, the publisher calls Gordon’s account “one-sided and unjust.”
Bethesda goes on to claim that id Software, Marty Stratton and Chad Mossholder had been subject to online harassment and threats since Gordon published his statement. Stratton, Mossholder and id have Bethesda’s unequivocal support according to the statement.
The statement also claims that Bethesda is “read with fill and complete documented evidence to disclose in an appropriate venue as needed” suggesting the publisher may be looking to take legal action against Gordon.

Gordon’s statement claims serious impropriety on both id Software’s and Bethesda’s behalf and claims that Stratton’s Reddit post seriously damaged his reputation and incited harassment and online hate. Gordon also claims he wasn’t fully compensated for his work and was subject to incredibly difficult working conditions.

We are aware of all the details and history in this matter and unequivocally support Marty, Chad, and the team at id Software. We reject the distortion of the truth and selective presentation of incomplete “facts.” We stand ready with full and complete documented evidence to disclose in an appropriate venue as needed.
The statements posted online have incited harassment and threats of violence against Marty, Chad, and the id Software team. Any threats or harassment directed towards members of our teams will be met with swift and appropriate action to protect their health and safety.
We remain incredibly proud of id’s previous collaborations with Mick Gordon and ask that fans refrain from reaching conclusions based on his account and, more importantly, from attacking any of the individuals mentioned on either side, including Marty, Chad, or Mick.
