Sonic, TagMODS and Turtle Beach have ushered in the End of Days with this unholy abomination of a controller

Remember the bizarre Cult of the Lamb controller from a while back? You know, the one with the fur? Well, not to be outdone, the mad fucking scientists at TagMODS have teamed up with Turtle Beach and Five Star Games to create a very special cursed Xbox controller to celebrate Sonic Frontiers.

Taking inspiration from those ungodly Cult of the Lamb controllers, TagMODS took things a step or 10 further and created a controller where the fur was replaced with hedgehog spikes. Cause who doesn’t love playing video games while bleeding profusely from the hands?

And in spite of the obvious ugliness, I obviously covet this controller and will do anything to get my (bloodied) hands on one and use it to summon Cthulu.

For real though…this is batshit

Each of these controllers/world-ending artifacts is valued at $470 AUD and there are 30 of them in existence. They come with “50 realistic (albeit blue) hedgehog spikes with customised red-and-white “shoes” on the shoulders and grips, and yes, they are playable”. With 30 of these THINGS out in the wild, Five Star Games and Turtle Beach are giving 20 of them away via Turtle Beach’s Twitter and EB Games’ Instagram.

The competition to win the controllers and ultimately destroy mankind will end “one week after its starting dates, and the controllers are not available for purchase outside of these giveaways, meaning folk will have to get in quick!”

After this competition is over, let’s all hope we’re still alive and not subjugated by a demonic Sonic overlord from the depths of hell. Also, I will sell my soul to demon Sonic for one of these controllers, so you know, hit me up demon Sonic.

Sonic Frontiers is available now.
