The Girl from Plainsville is a series based on the true-crime story of Michelle Carter coming to Stan

The Girl from Plainville is a true-crime story based on the “texting-suicide” case of Michelle Carter. Starring Elle Fanning as Carter, The Girl from Plainville will premiere on Stan on March 30, the same day as the US.

Based on the Esquire article of the same name, the limited series explores the relationship between Carter and Conrad Roy III, the events that lead to his suicide and her conviction of involuntary manslaughter.

Stan says,”The series examines the impact that technology, social media and pop-culture has on young people’s mental health and how it can be truly damaging.”

Written and executive produced by co-showrunners Liz Hannah (THE POST, The Dropout, Mindhunter) and Patrick Macmanus (Dr. Death), The Girl from Plainview promises to be a gripping and thought-provoking look at one of the more shocking crimes in recent memory.
