Hot Wheels Unleashed to receive DLC support post-release

Mattel and Milestone have announced their post-release plans for Hot Wheels Unleashed. Leveraging the power of IP, Hot Wheels Unleashed will see a slew of licensed content following release. Players will be able to purchase single items, expansions, access to racing seasons and Hot Wheels passes (which include expansion and single items together).

Content announced today includes Barbie, DC, Masters of the Universe, Street Fighter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and vehicle manufacturers like Aston Martin, BMW and McLaren.

Free and Premium content will be added to Hot Wheels Unleashed periodically and may include ” vehicles, track builder modules, customisation items and exclusive themed expansion sets introducing new environments.” Racing Seasons include limited-time challenges, new vehicles and special rewards.

Mattel and Milestone have announced three Hot Wheels Passes with the first pass available at launch. It will include ten vehicles, three customisation packs and three-track builder modules. Hot Wheels Pass Volume 1 will also include a Batman DLC expansion.

Mattel and Milestone have said;

Hot Wheels Unleashed will feature 66 vehicles from some of the most iconic pop culture brands at launch such as the Batmobile from DC, Party Wagon from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Snoopy from Peanuts, K.I.T.T. from NBC’s Knight Rider and the Time Machine from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Back to the Future and more.

Hot Wheels Unleashed will launch for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X on September 30.
