The announcement of Diablo II: Immortal at BlizzConline was huge news, particularly for the legion of Diablo fans dying to get their hands on something to play. While Diablo Immortal is an excellent addition to the franchise, some fans are never going to be excited about a mobile title.
For them, Blizzard has the remastered Diablo II in store.
And now, the single-player technical alpha is imminent. From 12.01 am, Saturday April 10, 2021 through 3.00 am, Tuesday April 13, 2021, lucky technical alpha testers will have unlimited access to the first two Acts of Diablo II: Ressurected.
Diablo II: Resurrected Technical Alpa
While the first two Acts of Diablo II: Resurrected will be wide open for alpha testers, only three of the seven total classes will be playable. Players will have the option of playing as the Barbarian, Amazon or Sorceress. Each of these characters will be able to “battle your way to their sacred Monastery and take on the Maiden of Anguish, Andariel before travelling East to the desolate deserts of Lut Gholein for the ultimate showdown with the Lord of Pain himself, Duriel.”
Other good news on the Diablo II: Resurrected technical alpha is that there’s no level cap. Players will be able to grind as high as possible during the alpha and upgrade their characters as much as they like.
According to Blizzard;
Diablo II: Resurrected contains massively upgraded visuals with stunning 4K resolution, full 3D physically-based rendering, as well as a complete audio remaster in Dolby Surround 7.1 sound. Everything in the Technical Alpha will be a work in progress but we look forward to hearing any, and all, feedback from players as we test how Diablo II’s timeless gameplay fits with some of the refinements we are working on, such as auto gold pickup, shared stash, and controller support.
A separate multiplayer test will be held later in 2021.
