How to change costumes in Mafia: Definitive Edition

After you’ve completed the campaign and get into some free-roaming in Mafia: Definitive Edition, you might be wondering what there is for you to do. You can hunt for collectibles or just explore and you can do it in style by choosing which costume you put Tommy in.

We’ve found 29 costumes so far (if you find any more hit us up on Twitter) with some being pretty standard and some, truly, out of this world. There’s only one location for you to change costume in the game but luckily it’s easily accessible.

At Salieri’s Bar, which is where you load into free roam, you’ll need to go inside and upstairs then turn left. There’s a wardrobe inside the room that allows you to change your costume.

Mafia: Definitive Edition Costumes

People on the streets don’t react any differently to you depeding on what you’re wearing and sadly the costumes don’t give you any extra abilities. If you’re wearing the police uniform, the police will still try to arrest you. If you’re wearing the Herbert Baskerville costume, you don’t find foxes or hidden collectibles any easier.

These costumes are purely cosmetic and just for fun.

Finishing the game grants you a good number of these costumes, though you can unlock Lift Boy, Hobo, Pajamas and Policeman by finding crates in Lost Heaven. The others you earn by completing bonus missions.

To unlock the Pajamas, just head to Tommy’s House in Oakwood. You’ll find the box on his porch. To unlock Liftboy, look in between St Michael’s Church and Hotel Corleone. For the Hobo costume, head to Holbrook Park and search through the shanty town, you’ll find the box on the west.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is now available.
