Troy Baker and Nolan North star in DIRT 5 as your mentor and rival

DIRT 5, from Codemasters, is heading to PC, PS4 and Xbox One in October and today, a new trailer focusing on the voice talent in the game has been released. DIRT 5 ties its races together with a narrative focusing on the player, their mentor AJ (Troy Baker) and rival Bruno Durand (Nolan North).

The single-player campaign, focuses on the DIRT Series, “a global racing event across various disciplines, featuring the world’s greatest off-road racers.” Beginning as a racer just starting their career, players will race against Alex ‘AJ’ Janiček and Bruno Durand and their rivalry allows the player to make their mark.

The story is helped along by an in-game podcast from real-world YouTube stars James Pumphrey and Nolan Sykes from Donut Media.

DIRT 5

In DIRT 5, the career mode plays out over five chapters, each with multiple races and multiple paths for the player to explore. Each chapter ends when the player acumulated enough stamps to tackle the final challenge.

 Robert Karp, DIRT 5 Development Director at Codemasters said;

DIRT 5’s Career underpins the entire experience and delivers a deeply immersive playground with player choice very much at the heart of it.

The addition of Troy, Nolan and Donut Media has created a living, breathing world and one where the player wants to belong and compete. Whether they can rise to the Main Event and Throwdown challenges remains to be seen

Players will also be able to tackle some career challenges in couch co-op. Multi-car challenges will allow friends to take control of vehicles rather than leave them to the AI.

DIRT 5 is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 9, 2020.
