Free System Shock demo available on Steam, GOG.com

Nightdive Studios, developers of many, many reboots and updates of classic games, has announced a free demo for the reboot/remake of System Shock. Fans can head to GOG.com or Steam to download the demo and give it a go. Players will be able to explore the Medical Bay and unlock all of System Shock’s weapons.

This demo is your chance to get up close with Nightdive Studios reimagining of this classic game. Nightdive has admitted to adding a new look and feel to System Shock, but also reatining the classic gameplay and story of the original.

Nightdive says;

We’ve gathered a team of industry veterans from games like Fallout: New Vegas, Mass Effect, and BioShock to create a faithful reboot of the classic game we all know and love. In System Shock, you’ll take on the role of a resourceful hacker as you explore and survive the terrors of Citadel Station brought on by a rogue AI named SHODAN

To ensure this reboot is as true to the original as possible, we’ve been collaborating with the original developers of System Shock 1.  Understanding what they would do differently and keep the same has helped us to refresh a classic in ways Looking Glass Studios would have

System Shock

System Shock was funded through Kickstarter and raised $1.35 million with a $900,000 goal. Fans are still able to back the game via the official website and can pre-order digital copies of the game, soundtracks and more.

To do so, head to the official website.

The free demo is available now and System Shock will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
