The Logitech StreamCam is a huge step up from your grainy webcam

The recent global pandemic has seen an incredible rise in the number of people needing webcams for video chat and streaming. But most laptop webcams suck and PC’s don’t ship with one. Logitech offers a solution in the new Logitech StreamCam, a webcam designed for streamers and content creators who need the best quality video. And it also happens to work great for everyone else.

Delphine Donne-Crock, General Manager of Creativity and Productivity at Logitech says that video has become a primary way for people to express themselves, and Logitech is designing products that help people create amazing content.

The new StreamCam features 1080p video at 60 fps for some truly sharp and smooth video. It can easily mount on your monitor but there are multiple ways to set it up. The monitor mount features the ability to tilt and pan, or you can even mount it on a tripod. Connection to your PC or laptop is via USB-C. The StreamCam is quite small and looks really sexy in either white or graphite colour. So much so that Logitech recently earned an International Design Award for its design.

In order to get the best out of the StreamCam, buyers are advised to use the Logitech Capture software. This opens up extra features facial recognition with smart focus, AI-enable smart framing and exposure so you always look your best in the shot.

The StreamCam can also be rotated to use in a vertical orientation that’s perfect for creating Instagram or Facebook stories in a 9:16 aspect ratio.
It also has image stabilisation so your video stream won’t shake and roll when you are moving around.

The StreamCam is ideal for streaming on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Instagram and is also supported by industry-leading XSplit and Open Broadcaster Software(OBS). While the Logitech Capture is a Windows app, there is now a beta version for macOS users to try out.

The Logitech StreamCam is available now at Logitech.com and other Aussie retailers for a recommended price of $229.95. Logitech Capture is available as a free download.
