Prepare for your return to New York in The Division 2 with a special animated short; play free this weekend

To prepare players ahead of the launch of the Warlords of New York expansion for The Division 2, Ubisoft has released a special animated short. Set before the events players will experience during the expansion, the animated short shows former agent Aaron Keener’s manipulation and takeover of Lower Manhattan.

This The Division 2 animated short gives players some more information and insight into the targets they’ll be hunting down in Warlords of New York. Only after defeating his lieutenants will players be able to reach Keener.

These enemies include “chemical engineer Vivian Conley, hacker Theo Parnell, Javier Kajika, an ex Black-Ops on a path for revenge, and James Dragov, master of heavy weapons”

The Division 2 Warlords of New York

In addition to the short film and the upcoming expansion, Ubisoft has revealed that this weekend, all players can take The Division 2 for a test-drive with a free weekend. From February 27 to March 2, The Division 2 will be free-to-play and will allow players to explore Washington D.C. and experience the action and events that have lead up to Warlords of New York.

During the free weekend, there will no level caps or time limits and players who decide to purchase The Division 2 will be able to continue from where they left off.

Warlords of New York is the second expansion for The Division 2 and takes players back to the location of the original game.

Aaron Keener – one of The Division’s original antagonists, as well as the first Division Agent to go rogue – has brought the factions of New York City under his control, and used them to conquer Lower Manhattan.

With other rogue Agents and a lethal new viral strain at his command, Keener is poised to eradicate what little has been rebuilt since the catastrophic Black Friday pandemic. The battle to restore order continues, but now The Division has a new mission: Stop Keener at any cost.

The Division 2 is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
