Sony Foundation’s Gaming4Life charity stream returns on February 1, raising funds for Australia’s Bushfire disaster

Sony Foundation has announced that its annual Twitch charity stream — Gaming4Life — is returning in 2020. Commencing on February 1, 2020, the event will run for three weeks during which time a host of streamers will entertain viewers, raise funds for Sony Foundation Australia’s Bushfire appeal and unlock great prizes.

Twitch streamers who do take part between February 1 and 23 will be in the running to win prizes from PlayStation and Sony Australia as well as the major prize, an all-expenses-paid holiday at Club Med Bali.

The Sony Foundation will be focusing on delivering youth-focused recovery projects and will aim to address the needs of young people in bushfire affected communities.

CEO Sony Foundation, Sophie Ryan said;

We know many people in the gaming community in Australia, and around the world, want to contribute to the Bushfire Relief efforts in a meaningful way. Gaming4Life 2020 is Sony Foundation’s way of bringing this community together to make a significant impact to aid the recovery of young people affected during this time of national crisis. The Twitch community never fails to amaze us by their continued generosity and we would like to thank all those who will take part, either streaming or donating, as every bit helps.

Sony Foundation will donate $200,000 to the Bushfire Appeal with additional revenue to be raised by the Gaming4Life event and other fundraisers.

The stream event was launched in 2017 and in that time has raised more than $100,000USD for Sony Foundation. With the help of over 70 Twitch streamers, there have been more than 2,000 individual donations.
