Disintegration is a sci-fi shooter from the co-creator of Halo

V1 Interactive and Private Division have teamed up to create and release Disintegration. Set in the near future, the earth is on the brink of climate collapse, overpopulation threatens society and food shortages are leading to deaths on an unprecedented scale. On top of it all, a global pandemic has led humanity to the brink of extinction.

To prevent humanity from being wiped out altogether, the world’s best scientists devised a method of removing the brain and transplanting it into a robotic body. This is known as integration.

Designed as a temporary solution, it instead created a new form of humanity. Those that were integrated refused to have the process reversed and adopted the name Rayonne. Now, the Rayonne and humans are at war with the goal of each side to exterminate the other.

In Disintegration, players will control Romer, a Rayonne who rebelled and has been exiled by his people.

Disintegration

V1 Interactive’s Disintegration team is being led by Marcus Lehto. Lehto is the co-creator of Halo was a former creative director at Bungie. In addition, the team includes 30 industry veterans who have worked on Destiny, SOCOM US Navy Seals and Halo.

According to Lehto;

Disintegration is not your standard first-person shooter and it will challenge how you approach the battlespace.

You will explore a world forever changed by an ongoing global conflict. The only way to save life as we know it is by making strategic decisions in every firefight, both as an armed Gravcycle pilot and as the commander of your crew.

Players will take part in a single-player campaign and three multiplayer modes across a variety of maps. Multiplayer is a team-based affair that will require strategy and teamwork. V1 Interactive describes the campaign as follows;

Experience a full single-player campaign as Romer Shoal, an expert Gravcycle pilot. Command your crew of Outlaws on the ground by leveraging a variety of unique unit abilities and mastery of your own personal arsenal to dominate the battle.

A technical beta is scheduled to take place early this year and players can sign up for a chance to take part at the website. The beta will take place on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Disintegration will launch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2020.
