Overwatch Legendary Edition launching for Switch in October

Well, it was a pretty poorly kept secret and now the secret is officially out. Overwatch Legendary Edition is coming to the Switch next month. Included with Overwatch on Switch are all 31 heroes and all 28 maps. Players will also get to try out a huge range of casual and competitive modes and experience Overwatch in all its most up-to-date glory.

Additionally, those who purchase Overwatch Legendary Edition will get 15 bonus skins and a three-month Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Finally, anyone who pre-purchases Overwatch on Switch will get Widowmaker’s Noire skin which is included with all day-one copies of Overwatch Legendary Edition.

To take advantage of the Switch hardware, Overwatch players will be able to use gyro controls to tilt the console to aim. In Blizzard’s announcement, it says that players can;

tilt their console to line up the perfect shot as McCree, pilot D.Va through the air, or quickly turn to deflect incoming projectiles as Genji.

J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard said, “Overwatch brings players together to co-operate and compete in a bright and optimistic vision of the future, and we’re looking forward to welcoming Nintendo Switch gamers into the fun.”

Purchasing Overwatch Legendary Edition will cost $69.95 AUD and will be available at retail and on the eShop. However, purchasing the boxed edition simply gives you a download code for the game.

Finally, if you log in to Overwatch on Switch by December 31, 2019, you’re guaranteed to receive a Golden Loot Box which will contain a Legendary item.

Overwatch Legendary Edition will be available for Switch on October 16, 2019.
