AMD has been winning the hearts of gamers lately with their excellent Ryzen CPU’s which boast incredible multithread performance that often outpaces Intel’s chips while doing so at a much more friendly price. Now AMD is bundling a new Wraith Prism cooler with RGB lighting in every 3rd Gen Ryzen 7 and 9 desktop processors.
The Wraith coolers have been mostly just functional tools to keep your beastly processor from cooking itself. But now you can get RGB lighting to match your systems feng shui.
The Wraith Prism cooler features per-RGB LED control around the illuminated light ring and transparent fan blades. AMD says it has ‘increased motherboard and RAM compatibility by minimising the profile and added direct-contact heat pipes and fan overclocking control to increase thermal effectiveness.’

Most noteworthy about this is that the new Wraith Prism coolers is compatibility with Razer Chroma. As part of Razer’s Chroma Connect program, users can synchronise the RGB lighting on their Wraith Prism with other Razer Chroma enabled devices. Effectively, this means you can get your Wraith Prism to match your Razer Deathadder and Blackwidow keyboard lighting.
Razer’s Chroma Connect is a far-reaching program with multiple hardware manufacturers so you won’t have any trouble finding one compatible with your new Wraith Prism. This includes brands like MSI, ASRock, Thermaltake and Lian Li with many more found at this link.
Not only that, the Wraith Prism is compatible with other AM4 motherboard lighting controllers such as ASRock RGB LED, ASUS Aura sync, Biostar VIVID LED DJ, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, and MSI Mystic Light.
The Wraith Prism will be included with all boxed 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 Desktop Processors:
- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
- AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
- AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
- AMD Ryzen 9 3950X (to be released September 2019).
The Wraith Prism is also bundled with the last-gen AMD Ryzen 7 2700X.
