Have you played Teamfight Tactics yet?

It’s well known that League of Legends is one of the biggest games in the world. But, not wanting to simply rest on its laurels, Riot Games recently launched Teamfight Tactics. An in-game auto-battling strategy game, that pits players against seven opponents all vying for survival. As Riot puts it, you’re in “a free-for-all race to build a powerful team that fights on your behalf. Your goal: Be the last person standing.”

The way Teamfight Tactics works is that players spend gold to recruit Legends in between rounds and “your team will become more powerful as you draft champions that share origins and classes to unlock trait bonuses.”

Additionally, you can combine three duplicates of the same champ to upgrade them into a super version of themselves, and combine three supers to create the ultimate version.

Players place their Legends down on the game board and watch as the battles play out automatically. It’s kind of like auto-chess, except you’ll need to strategise for the Legends and not chess pieces.

Teamfight Tactics

Teamfight Tactics was recently patched to add a Ranked Mode and to celebrate a Twitch Rivals global competition was held with a prize pool of $125,000. Clearly, this new game has some legs.

Teamfight Tactics also introduced ‘Little Legends.’ These cute characters cheer the Legends on and serve as the players’ avatars.

Teamfight Tactics is available now.

I've been playing games for the past 27 years and have been writing for almost as long. Combining two passions in the way I'm able is a true privilege. PowerUp! is a labour of love and one I am so excited to share.
